Alcohol and Anxiety

 
 

Over the years, I have learned that when I have alcohol, I need to HYDRATE with water as much as I can - otherwise my “anxiety” will skyrocket.

Except… often times it’s not actually my anxiety; it’s actually dehydration. Dehydration causes similar symptoms to anxiety such as, rapid heartbeat, rapid breathing, lack of energy, etc. Even if I’m not having a drink, I might experience these systems because I’m not drinking enough water.

Since it can be so tricky to tell at times if I’m dehydrated or just having anxiety, I’ll just chug some water! If my symptoms go down as a result, I know it wasn’t my anxiety ;) so - stay hydrated friends!
